Economics Major

US Government Accountability Office

This summer I was an intern at the Government Accountability Office. As part of the Applied Research and Methods team in the Center for Economics, I worked on technical and economic support for GAO’s mission teams. This summer I focused on three projects that covered a variety of policy issues: financial regulation for too-big-to-fail banks, modeling of health care expenditures, and cybersecurity. My work this summer allowed me to interact with industry and regulatory officials; attend conferences and hearings related to the field; and work with a group of very talented and friendly individuals. The advice and experience that I received this summer has been invaluable in shaping my future career path.
