Victoria Xiao (’17)

I worked at PFLAG National as a policy and communications intern this past summer, where I worked on LGBTQ advocacy efforts at one of the nation's oldest LGBTQ ally organizations. In this role, I worked on our response to the tragedy at Pulse in Orlando, researched policies on issues such as inclusion of transgender athletes at the high school level, and I attended coalition-building meetings, Congressional hearings. I also researched HIV/AIDS and stigma in healthcare and prepared policy statements and strategies for addressing stigma through national and grassroots-based advocacy efforts.
